Show Table of ContentsDon't worry, EstateExec has never lost anyone's data! If you can't find something you already entered, the following tips can help you find it:
Estate "Gone"
If your entire estate seems to be gone, or a bunch of data seems to be missing, make sure that you are logged into the correct account and looking at the correct estate (many people set up multiple estates for one reason or another when they're getting started).
Once you are logged into the correct account, you can open the desired estate using the Estate | Open menu (each login may have access to multiple estates, either created under this login, or created by someone else and shared with this login).

Transactions "Missing"
If you can't find a transaction you entered, be sure to check the following:
Correct Asset
When you create a transaction, you associate it with a particular asset (e.g, you make a deposit into the "Chase Checking Account" asset).
When viewing the Cashflow table, you can choose which asset's transactions you wish to see using the Asset selector (above the top left of the table).
If you don't see a particular transaction, it's possible you entered it for a different asset. You can check other likely assets using the Asset selector, or just check them all by setting the Asset selector to "All Assets".

Date Range
Like most online financial programs, EstateExec shows only the most recent transactions by default. You can include older transactions by clicking the "Include Older Entries" button (below the last entry in the table).

Search and Sort
You can use the search and sort functions in the column headers to find specific entries. These functions only operate on what the table currently contains, so make sure you have the desired date range retrieved as per above.

Executor Expenses vs. Estate Expenses
Remember that expenses paid with estate funds should be recorded on the Cashflow Tab, while expenses paid out-of-pocket by the executor should be recorded in the Executor Expenses table on the Executor Tab.
It's not uncommon for people to enter expenses in one place, then forget where they entered them, and look in the other place.
Hint: When you want to see executor expenses on the Executor tab, use the table selector at the top of the tab to choose "Expenses".

File Attachments "Lost"
If you can't find a file you uploaded:
- Click the Estate | Attach Files menu
- In the dialog that appears, click the "Include item files" so the table shows a list of all files uploaded at the estate level, plus all files attached to any item in the estate
- Either click the desired file to download it, or select it using its checkbox in the left most column and click the Go to Item button at the bottom of the table to go to the item to which the file is attached
