Probate Forms (VT)
There are a number of state-specific forms you may need when going through the probate process.
General VT Forms
In Vermont, the local Probate Division of the County Superior Court handles wills and estate probate, If you are using EstateExec and you enter the decedent's county of legal residence on the Decedent tab, you will see a direct link to the appropriate court here.
You can check with your local court for the forms they might prefer, and below you will find some of the more common VT forms:
- Petition to Open Decedent's Estate (Form 700-00001) - Get the probate process started
- Bond Waiver (Form 700-00004) - Attach to Petition if desired and not addressed by will
- List of Interested Persons (Form 700-00002E) - Provide the court with a list of heirs-at-law and devisees
- Estate Administration Bond (Form 700-00020) - Show the court you have obtained any required administration bond
- Consent (Form 700-00155) - Show the court you have obtained permission from an interested person for a specific action
- Waiver (Form PC 156) - Show the court you have obtained a notice waiver from an inheritor or creditor
- Notice of Elections and Rights in an Intestate Estate (Form PE 48) - Notify spouse of rights if there is no will
- Notify Creditors (Form PE 32) - Notify creditors about the probate
- Inventory Schedule (Form 700-00030) - Tell court about estate contents (consider attaching EstateExec Inventory Report)
- Summary of Account (Form PE 56) - Provide a financial report to the court
- Receipt (Form P 153) - Get receipts from distribution recipients
- Estate Tax Information and Application for Tax Clearance (Form E-2A) - Request clearance letter from VT Dept of Taxes
- Fiduciary's Closing Report (Form 700-00152) - Tell the court you are done in a closing statement
